Definition

Royal Orchid Holidays is a travel agency operating as the international business unit of Thai Airways, offering full travel packages and services for travelers, covering flights, activities, and hotels. SUFFIX redesigned the platform experience from information architecture through to UI design, with handoff specifications for the in-house Thai Airways development team.

Objective

Designing a new Interface for Royal Orchid Holidays, a business unit of Thai Airways

Outcome

SUFFIX designed the new interface for Royal Orchid Holidays, working with both the marketing team and the in-house web development team at Thai Airways. The work covered wireframes, validating the data structure for both the display and the search system, and designing the full user interface with handoff specifications for the Thai Airways development team to build the site exactly to design.

Designing a new Interface for Royal Orchid Holidays, a business unit of Thai Airways

Process

How did SUFFIX design the UI for Royal Orchid Holidays?

SUFFIX took the business requirements directly from Thai Airways, working with two main teams, the marketing team that set the goals and content, and the in-house web development team responsible for the engineering. The process started with understanding the business requirement, analyzing what a travel website needs to show and how users actually search, then building wireframes to validate the structure before moving into UI design. That kept every group aligned from the start.

Wireframes and data structure for a travel website

A travel agency website carries layered information, from packages and flights to hotels and activities, each with its own details and conditions. SUFFIX built wireframes to clearly lay out the data structure for the full website, covering two main areas, the display side that orders information so users see packages and services clearly, and the search system that lets users filter and find what they want quickly. The wireframes went through review with both the marketing and development teams before moving into UI design.

UI design with handoff specs for the Thai Airways dev team

On this project, SUFFIX owned the design while the engineering belonged to the in-house development team at Thai Airways. SUFFIX designed the full user interface with detailed handoff guidance for the dev team, so the website would be built to design without compromise. This way of working depends on clarity in the design and complete specifications, since the team doing the development sits in a different organization.
