Definition

TIPCO Asphalt CRM is a customer management platform built specifically for the asphalt manufacturing and distribution industry. It covers product data, orders, customer information, and the unique conditions of government infrastructure projects, from roads through to airport runways.

Objective

Design and Development of a CRM Platform Specifically for the Asphalt Product Manufacturing and Distribution Industry

Outcome

SUFFIX ran user research across every department (sales, finance, marketing, and executive), starting with in-depth interviews and testing of the legacy system to surface root issues. The team then designed detailed wireframes and developed the full user interface, delivering a CRM where every department can see operations from product data and orders through to the payment conditions of each project.

Process

How did SUFFIX design the custom CRM for TIPCO Asphalt?

TIPCO Asphalt is a B2B business selling asphalt to infrastructure contractors. Each client carries its own set of conditions, including asphalt type, volume, and payment terms. Off-the-shelf CRM systems cannot handle that level of complexity. SUFFIX started with user research, interviewing every relevant department, from sales tracking projects, to finance managing payment terms, to marketing needing a market overview, through to executives wanting a strategic dashboard. The system was then designed to serve all those needs at once.

Why research every department before designing a CRM?

A CRM is not a tool for any single department. Sales uses it to track customers and projects, finance uses it to monitor payment terms, marketing uses it to analyze data, executives use it for the high-level view. Each department has its own way of working and its own problems. SUFFIX ran research across every team and had staff use the legacy system to surface where the real friction lived. The findings shaped a CRM that does more than fix one department's problems. It connects how every team works together.

From wireframes to a user interface built for B2B asphalt

With insights gathered from every department, SUFFIX designed detailed wireframes to set the data structure and workflow before moving into UI design. The system covers product data management (each asphalt type), orders tied to government infrastructure projects, customer and contractor records, and the specific conditions of each deal. Every part was designed so each department sees the information from the angle that suits them, sales sees the pipeline, executives see the dashboard, finance sees payment status.
